Midori No Hibi

written on April 28, 2007· leave comment · posted in Anime

Well, after about 2 weeks, I finally finished Midori No Hibi. Actually, I finished 4 episodes today and 2 episodes yesterday. Thats around half of the series since its only a 13 episode anime.

I would say that the plot is not so strong since its only a 13 episode anime, there’s obviously alot of character development thats lacking. The ending’s quite abrupt too. They just meet and confess and they got together. No high impact. Haha. However it does fulfill its entertainment role.

Now that I have finished Midori No Hibi, its the 2nd anime that I actually finished watching, after Love Hina. It is also the shortest series if I’m not wrong. I have completed 11/25 of Tokimeki Memorial Only Love and 123 episodes of Bleach, which is still ongoing.

If anyone has any anime to introduce please do tell me, I guess sometimes travelling is a chore without watching anime already. =)

Also, today I watched 200 pounds beauty.. The story is not strong obviously. Its just a normal story of fat goes slim and losing her identity and regretting. However I just like the comedic part of it. I just like Korean movies. Watched many other Korean movies like My Boyfriend is type B.. And what is the one in which the girl and guy like to lie to each other? Hmm. I forgot the title already. Really enjoyed myself especially it has been a long time since I went out with my girlfriend. =)

Logo and Updates..

I was doing a logo for this tuition agency I’m working with called Inspire. So I came up with a 1st draft but I didn’t like it. So I edited it and came up with a 2nd draft. Please give me your comments huh? I sent it to my boss alr. =)

Inspire Logo

As for NextTutor updates, I started on the tutors part yesterday, so far these are the things I have finished.

  1. Registration Page
  2. Login Page
  3. Forgot Password Page
  4. Edit Profile Page
  5. Change Password Page
  6. Logout Page
  7. Check Username Availability Page

I still have some more to finish, after which I would begin to brainstorm on the possible features that I can add to enhance the user experience at NextTutor. But, before I can do that, I have to get the basics right first. =)

Finished!

I am glad to declare that I finished my Parents / Tuition Coordinators Section of NextTutor. From tomorrow onwards, I would be starting on the tutors section. Cheers!

After 2 days of long hiatus from the project, I went back to work since yesterday to fine tune some parts of the site and make it look better, I’m now 90% done with the edit of students profiles page, sadly I can’t find out how come it just doesn’t update the new profile particulars. I have had problems with it for a long time and I just do not know how to solve it. Its quite depressing and I really hope for it to be solved asap so I can go on to program the tutors part. Yeah.

Well I do not know if I would be able to finish the whole project before I go into University, or whether I would even launch it or not. It all has to depend isn’t it? Yeah.

Hooray!

Well, I only have one more page to do for the whole of the parents section, before I begin to do up the tutors section. Sadly, this page is the one in which I do not understand how to do. I would need to learn more yeah?

Well, over the course of these few weeks I managed to achieve quite a bit of work, and I’m quite happy with it. I’m starting to read up on increasing traffic blahblah before I actually launch this whole project.. =)

Well today I managed to do up one whole big chunk of work, that is the index page.

It shows the entries that you have posted and classifies them into groups of 10. There is also a page system that automatically generate links for Next or Previous and one link for every page!

The whole process is tedious as I didn’t know how to make the data into an array so that I can display it correctly. No doubt people who do read my blog won’t be too bothered with it thus I won’t get too technical. =)

Well it has been a success and I look forward to finishing the parents part of NextTutor. =)

Next up, the search and edit pages! =)

Hooked on Anime?

Well, been exposed to many different anime recently, of which the one that i’m hooked to and currently watching is Bleach. Episode 121 just came out last thursday. =) 122 is coming up in 3 more days! Haha.

Im also watching Tokimeki Memorial Only Love. Well I guess JH would be rolling his eyes and saying huh. (If not I expect him to mention this when he sees me on MSN.)

I don’t know why I started watching and I don’t know why I’m continuing. It may be because I want to finish what I watched, or maybe its just that I just like to watch this kind of anime also? Its kinda like why I watched Love Hina in the 1st place. (Thanks jh for the Love Hina anime)

However I note that watching too much of this kind of shows (as well as those idol dramas) give people a false sense of reality. In reality do you expect Japanese girls to be so cute and bubbly with energy and have such an attractive persona and aura? Nope. These animes as well as idol dramas may make people feel that why people around them are not like those in animes or idol dramas.

I want to take this chance to make it known that anime is only a cartoon, idol drama is only a drama. They exist to entertain. They do not reflect the reality 100% accurately. Even reality TV may not be accurate. (Ever heard of rigging?) We should take note of that and not expect your dream guy/girl to be the same as that in the anime or idol drama.

My 2 cents worth. So there!

Project Update

I’ve completed pview.php which is a page where you can view the student profiles that have been written to the database, as well as get information on who to contact. Haha.

I’m currently doing the main parents page. This is the page you will see when you login, and since its the main page, it will definately have a slight overview on what is happening. It will include a summary on the account. Well I definately got to improve on the design too. =)

Tomorrow I would be continuing this main parents page, and after this I will go and write the search page to seach for the entries. =)

My progress so far..

written on April 15, 2007· leave comment · posted in Projects

Well, these few days I made quite a bit of progress.

I have done up the add student script. I can finally add everything correctly, including the date posted, the arrays are also imploded into the correct style. I have also done up the delete entry script.

What I am doing now is to make a view student profile script that will show the details of the student as well as contact details of the poster.

The debugging part is driving me crazy especially all the SQL errors.

I have learnt that you cannot have any entry with a space? I don’t know why. (in sql). Perhaps my table settings are wrong.

And if you set the column to be unique, you cannot have the same entry twice in that column. I went through the hard way to learn that. Haha.

Well, all the best and work hard.

Problems are all cleared..

Wow. My problems are all solved today morning. I am so happy! =)

All the SQL problems are solved, and my Edit Profile Page is done already. When you click on edit profile, the form appears with all the default values that you have in the database. After that, you will enter new information to change the values. Then the PHP script will update the database! Haha. =)

I’m doing the add students profile page now, where you add students profile such as name, educational level, subjects blabla so that people can search! =)

Hopefully it all turns out well.
