Everywhere in life we meet up with sin, and sin can take many forms. For example, lying can be a sin. After all, its wrong to lie. Stealing is also a sin. I’m not going to talk about the 7 deadly sins (lust, greed blabla), but rather sins as in actions done that hurt others.
I’ve been giving this issue some thought lately, and I asked myself, what kind of sins would be the greatest sins to me? What, would be unforgivable to me? What, despite the number of yellow ribbons people wear, would I not accept or forgive? After all, there are actions that are too grave for one to forgive easily.
After much deliberation, I have found 2 unforgivable sins in my life. I have never met up with them and hopefully I will never need to.
Murder
Murder is an unforgivable sin simply because it takes away life. I’m talking about innocent lives here, lives whom people kill just for the sheer fun of it. I cannot forgive those who murder others. However, I support the death penalty. Why, you may ask. Isn’t it the same as murder? They have taken away a life and yet, using the death penalty, you are also taking away a life?
Well, this is because my opinion of justice is different. I feel that one who has committed murder has forsaken his place here on earth with the rest of us. He who murders cold heartedly has disrupted the goodwill we have here on earth and has spoilt everyone’s life.
What about murder in defense? Well I hope no one will ask me that because I think its plain stupid. Murder in defense is acceptable to me.After all, you are defending yourself against a potential murderer. Instead of getting killed, why not kill the murderer? After all, the murderer has given up his place here by deciding to murder you, yet you have a life to live. You have not decided to give up your place, and it is a right to protect yourself and your place here.
Rape
Why is rape an unforgivable sin? In fact, I place rape above murder. I feel that rape is a disgusting act that is worst than murder. When you murder someone, the victim dies and goes to heaven (or hell). (or someplace else). However, when you commit rape, the person lives and he or she lives with the humiliation and the pain of your misdeeds. He or she may be depressed and become emotionally unstable. His or her whole life may be wrecked and he or she has to suffer for it.
To make someone else suffer such pain and agony because of one’s actions is unforgivable. I simply do not have a wide heart to accommodate such offenders.
No matter how much yellow ribbons you give me, I cannot forgive people who hurt others so severely.
In fact, I do not think I can be a policemen because I don’t think my feelings and opinions on this issue is in line with the law. After all, I feel that such people should be punished by death.
If someone up there gives me special powers, who knows what I may become. For all you know,I may be going around catching criminals red handedly. And I won’t be the neighbourhood Spiderman or Superman. I will probably kill them. Sick? But those who commit such crimes are sick beyond help.
Disclaimer: The above article is a matter of opinions on the weighing of sins. If you do not like what you see, you can comment and we will have a discussion.
Let me post this question to everyone. I suddenly thought about this because a good friend of mine just mentioned via MSN that he wished to go back in time to change a few things in life.
I was just wondering about myself. If I were to choose to re-live my life again, what would I choose to change? There are a few things I have regretted in my life, one of them being my laziness at my PSLE. My friends went to special stream whilst I went into express. I’m not craving to go into special, but I wanted to join my friends and stay together. At the same time I didn’t want to feel inferior about myself.
But would I want to go back and change them? I doubt so. Even though I did not go into the school I wanted, or that I didn’t get the grades I wanted, I am very happy with that aspect of my life. I believe that the problem I had with my PSLE results actually motivated me to achieve a higher potential and maybe that is the reason why I went to do better in the O and A levels. It has also taught me never to be complacent with major examinations
I have also regretted my childish actions in secondary school and JC, something which I am ashamed to say but it has resulted in me being really unpopular in my class. I think most of the people around me think badly of me till this day, even though I really have changed.
However if I go back, what can I have changed about that? Its a whole 6 years of bad decisions. I doubt I want to relieve the 6 years again. Actually, it has made me grow up and learn what is right to do and what is not right.
I just feel that everything is part of growing up. Everything that happened in your life has a reason for it to happen. It is a way for whoever’s up there to teach you a lesson about life and you have to learn it and go on. I guess sometimes it is better to loosen up your bag of regrets and let it go away. Especially for me, I guess I should live the life I want, instead of living my life based on what other people will think of me. Why should I live my life based on other people’s perception, especially if they do not know me that well?
So cheer up everyone, life goes on.
People who have been on my blog for a long time should know that I have this pet project called NextTutor, which I have been working on for months. In fact, in the recent days I have gotten so demoralized with it that I have not updated it.
Basically its rotting now and I have to do something about it. I need to decide which sections to keep and which to implement. Basically my aim is to help the tuition community so that people can search through tuition jobs instead of pouring through forums threads.
The whole project is beginning to become a gigantic problem. With regards to promotion, implementation and what have you.
Its much easier to maintain a blog than a website. Thats for sure.
If you haven’t watched Hairspray, do so before it ends its run in Singapore. Hairspray has been around for week and I finally caught it a few days ago. Hairspray is a musical-like movie, just like Grease, where there is a story, but most of the parts are in songs. The rest are speech, but songs form the bulk.
The songs are great and brings out the story very well. The story is about this girl who hopes to be on this particular TV show and what she did to get in. There are antagonists who wants to kick her out because she became popular, and has views that there should be racial integration on that TV show.
I don’t want to type out what goes on because its going to be a spoiler, but do go down and watch it if you want to be entertained. Oh..John Travolta crossed dressed too..Or rather, he’s a lady.

Xiaxue just lashed out again. I don’t blame her though. She’s a little upset over the Just Shoot 3 saga, and she seems to be directing the bulk of her anger at a certain Mr Cai. I do not know who Mr Cai was before this, but I know who he is now because I watched Just Shoot 3 on youtube a few nights back.
Well, as a bystander I do feel that Mr Cai is a little too much. Maybe he is doing his job, maybe he is like this for every episode? I do not know. However I guess sometimes its a little too much because he seems to be taking it rather personal throughout the show.
Anyway I’m not going to take sides. I just feel that these online nasty commenting should stop. Many people are commenting that Xiaxue this and Xiaxue that, and they are mostly anti-xx comments. They say that she’s creating publicity to attract readers, but the irony is that, the people who comment are the one that is contributing to the hype, which in turn brings more traffic to her blog.
How many of us are guilty of creating publicity? Many of us. Many of us have used eye catching headlines that has nothing much to do with what the post has to offer. How many times have you clicked on a post only to discover that the whole post is just a link to another person’s blog?
How many times have you seen a title with the letters NSFW on it in the top 10? Almost everyday! The best thing is, there was a few times when the NSFW posts are perfectly safe for work.
My point is everyone does things to increase publicity. There is nothing wrong with that. Newspapers all over the world does that. The tabloid magazine you are reading has sensationalized headlines. Most of the times the headlines creates an expectation of something interesting that the article does not provide for.
Actually I find that the arguments XX made in Just Shoot 3 were pretty valid. If you feel that I am wrong, shoot me. People called XX a hypocrite because she criticize fake personalities but is fake herself. Yes she is fake in her nose, but she has never lied or created a fake persona regarding the nose. In fact, she informs readers that photos are photo-shopped and she isn’t as pretty as in the photos. Is that fake? Well its your opinion.
Some say that she’s not pretty so she should not talk so much. Is there a link there? I see no such links.
Well, these childish statements got to stop. If you can find a fallacy in her posts to attack her, do it. At least there is something going on in the organ between your ears.
I will be posting up a new category on blogs to read, and hopefully I will always be able to find new blogs to introduce to everyone. I will probably be starting with blogs that I read and do a short introduction and a few posts that I feel are good to read, and then link them from here.
If you want to get your blog featured on The Ignorantsoup, why not send me an email? ignorantsoup[at]gmail.com. Hope to get some response!
This is not the usual blast the Stomp article entry, although I would say that there is some things to be criticized.
Either Stomp tried to sensationalize things by labeling China Woman, or that its the sender. I believe its both.
Why do we keep doing this? We repeatedly label them as from China, making it such that it seems as if China people are all doing something wrong. The white sheeps from China seem to suffer a lot due to the black sheeps.
“Put a stop to bad service,” the STOMPer said in an email on 18 Sept, after the encounter at about 6pm that same day with a rude staff she thinks is from China.
The problem with this is that the stomper does not really know if she is from China, and the only thing that probably led her to this conclusion is the accent. However my point is not how she derived at the conclusion, but rather, on the issue that society has become more biased against people from China.
Isn’t it?
Trust me, everything goes wrong on a China person, the proper nationality will be printed.
Recently another article on Stomp amused me. Its a few photos of snails on grasses and apparently this person was quite bothered by it to take photos to send to stomp. The headline is also weird. It reads, “Are snails helping to cut grass?” which seems quite sarcastic to me.
However my dear Singaporeans, do not be more ignorant than Ignorantsoup. Such snails are quite common. In fact I have a few at the grass patch near my house too. Even toads. Should I stomp them? Perhaps I can say that toads are having a mini Esplanade at my house area.
Funny how some mundane stuff are contributed to Stomp.Maybe tomorrow I will use plenty of tissue paper and say “Look at how much tissue I use!”
I was watching Xiaxue’s TV shoot on youtube and I went to re-read some of the articles, and one particular one really made me admire her.
The post is about people who don’t like Singapore by blaming the government for it and thinking that everything is the government’s fault and that they wish to migrate to other countries. In fact, Xiaxue mentioned that she loves Singapore and I must say I do too.
I don’t really like people around me blaming the government for every single thing that’s happening in our country. We blame and criticize the government for what they say yet we are the ones that continually re-elect them into government and give them a overwhelming majority.
Some people say “Oh I want to migrate to the Western countries and have a more relaxed life”. Do we have a stressful life in Singapore? I don’t know because I can’t compare.
My friends one posed me this question: If a famous company (for example Nasa or Google) hired me, will I migrate to America to work there? Now I do not blame my friends for choosing to pursue their dreams, but I for one will never compromise my citizenship just for a job.
I am born here and there is probably a reason for it. I’m a freethinker and I believe that whoever’s up there put me here for a reason, and that I am already luckier than the many people who still have to struggle for meals. If a potential lucrative jobs requires me to renounce my citizenship, I’m sorry but I would have to say no. I do not mind myself working overseas for a few years, but the basic criteria is that you have to let me keep my red passport. Deal or no deal?
I think the government is doing a good job in our country. Yes we may not exactly have so much freedom as compared to the United States, but I believe that freedom comes with great responsibility and we as a nation is not mature enough to embrace such freedom. In fact, what freedom do you crave so much that you can’t get in Singapore? You can say anything you want, provided its responsible and justified. You can eat anything you want, drink anything you want and fart as many times as you want. Hell, you can even smoke in the public! What freedom do you desire so much that you cannot get in Singapore?
Some people blame the government for the increase in GST. However we fail to see other countries who heavily tax their citizens. We say the government should provide free healthcare, but we fail to see that Britain has tried and the system is definitely not good and healthy.
Has anyone realized that no matter where you go, you are a Singaporean deep down and you will never be a first class citizen in anywhere of the world other than your own birth country? No matter where I go, I will never be a first class citizen and will never be as bonded to my friends as it is now.
If you do not believe, let me bring you to the point of the PRC situation in Singapore. In fact, a few days ago, some blogger on Ping.sg just blogged about stereotyping people from China. And I agree, there is discrimination. Not all China study mums are prostitutes, yet they seem to be portrayed as one. It is difficult for them to come to Singapore to live, and yet they are treated like 2nd or 3rd class citizens. What makes us think that, if we migrate overseas, we can live the life we want, and we will not be discriminated against?
Do I make my point? In fact, most people don’t. People flame Xiaxue for posting her posts, but yet what she says makes much sense. It is just the way that she put her point across that is different. That is one of the reason why I read and support her blog. Sometimes she makes a lot of sense, but people just misunderstand.
What I just want to say is this: If you feel that Singapore has a lot of flaws, either change Singapore by becoming a politician, or go and migrate. I don’t think we want to keep people who have such low loyalty to their birth country. In fact, please keep in mind that it is Singapore that groomed you and you are brought up using the Singapore education system. People want to come her to receive an education because we have a certain standard. Now be glad and stop whining.
Are you a quitter or a stayer? I’m a stayer and I will probably die in Singapore. Call me foolish if you want, but if war comes, I will be there in the frontline doing my very best with my fellow brothers protecting Singapore. Or if you want, you can call me ignorant. For who can be more ignorant than Ignorantsoup? I hope I gave you something to think about today.
Recently in the forums some new money making opportunities have surfaced and it works by clicking on links that advertisers give you and you get money. Something about shares come into play too. If you purchase more shares, you can click on more links, giving you more money, in the form of egold at the end of the day.
Looks attractive? Sure is. Many have signed up under their referrals and everyone earns money, so to speak. It reeks of one huge pyramid structure and to me, it seems downright unethical. I have this stinking feeling that this whole program is going to disappear one day. The head of this business will run away? This perhaps is due to the fact that you can’t cash out immediately, and that the upline gains more money when there are more downlines clicking for them.
How much can you earn actually? One day, the people at the downline are going to earn very little. Advertisers pay a flat rate and it is distributed amongst all the people in that line.
You have to buy shares too, to click more. Where does the money go to? I guess someone at the very top? Yet forumers continue to contribute to this thriving and unsafe business.
Why is it unethical? If you have read my post on targeted traffic, this is actually an abuse of advertising dollars. Advertisers pay to get hits, they pay to get visitors who has a chance to buy.
Now, surely you would agree with me that such people who participate in such a scheme has less interest to purchase than to gain money. Considering that they are clicking for money, they will most probably spend less time on the website and has less chance of being persuaded to purchase a product. Does the advertiser gain? Not at all. Since we are making advertisers pay for nothing in return, surely such a company is unethical? It is abusing companies’ advertising budget by sending them stupid clickers who will not help the company.
And yet we continue to bring business to this market. Perhaps it is no wonder why advertisers are fearful in giving advertising companies deals. We are contributing to a global internet advertising fraud.
Now this program is brought up by a nemesis of mine, someone I fought with over the internet. It is no surprise why he is on my hated list. His doings seem unethical to me and yet he has this chauvinistic air around him. I haven’t and didn’t reply to that particular thread for peace sake. However I can’t help but to disagree with his methods and ideology.
