Don’t you think that pregnant ladies are quite vulnerable when they go on public transports? Their weak, under-developed fetus aside, they are extremely vulnerable to people with camera phones. Why are they vulnerable, you may ask, so let’s see some proof.

This pregnant lady was recently Stomped on the MRT because no one gave up a seat for her. Source: (Stomp, 3 Sept)
And a few other more examples: #1 | #2
Three examples in just the month of August / September.
I just wonder, did anyone ask for the pregnant lady’s permission before snapping that photo of her? Clearly, some photos does show the lady’s face and she might not like it when people take her photos like that. Besides, the purpose of sending photos to Stomp is to “shame” the people who do not give up their seats isn’t it? Then why, in certain photos, is the pregnant lady the “center of attraction”?
I think pregnant ladies are innocent and this is not a good way to treat a pregnant lady when it is clearly not her fault. I feel that pregnant ladies should be exempted from the shock of finding herself Stomped on a national “citizen journalism website”. I suggest that people who wish to Stomp for every single bit of thing exercise restraint in capturing the pregnant lady’s facial features. Perhaps you can just take the shot such that it is evident that the lady is pregnant, and yet the main attention is focused on the criminals discourteous passengers. In this way, we will save our ladies unnecessary stress and they may even be more encouraged to have babies since no one will be Stomping them unnecessarily.
Anyway that last sentence was a load of crap.
I stroke out the word criminals because, with all the attention being focused on these people, they may very well be seen as a criminal, however I do not think they deserve being labeled as such, thus I call them discourteous.
What do y’all think?
See Stomp post here.
I’m quite pissed off and irritated at this Stomper. Frankly I think what he/she did is lame and thoughtless. We are now judging people based on our values system. Do we know what’s going on in their heads?
Tell you what, I know the reason why they are putting the trays on the floor. They have no space to accomodate all the trays on the table, plus they need the trays to put all the plates and utensils back to the clearing point. That is the reason why they put the trays on the floor.
Its raining that day and it may dirty the tray? Hell I think the trays would be wiped down before re-use isn’t it? Plus the photo doesn’t really show that its wet. It may be raining, but if the rain does not fall or dirty the area where they put the trays, your argument doesn’t hold.
Makes me wonder how some people think. Please spare a thought for others. This situation is totally uncalled for.
Our 3G SAF has been stomped by a stomper. Apparantly, two guys in SAF No3 were caught by this stomper playing pool in uniform. Other alleged “crimes” include leaving his shirt untucked and taking out his name tag.
Our Stomp has since evolved into something as stupid as that. What is the real point in sending this photo? Like schools, our 3G SAF has their own delinquents. Why are we so busybody as to take a photo of such a minor thing? Unless the Stomper gets to win a little digital camera or something, I don’t see why he or she should even bother. Maintaining a high class SAF? Lol.
This Stomp post reminded me of another post. Remember the one where the policeman is sleeping in the police car? Well, maybe the public is getting too much into the uniform = strict rules and regulations thing. I guess its deeply rooted into our education system that when we go int an institution with a uniform, we must always uphold the image. Yes, uphold the image is the right thing to do, however, sometimes flexibility is needed. In the policeman example, he could be off duty and just did a 24 hour no rest duty, rendering him too tired. Thus, he fell asleep.
Granted, these SAF privates have no excuse, but the only wrong thing they did is to tuck out their uniforms and “smoke”. I say “smoke” because the photos do not show us evidence of smoking (if I am not cock eye). I think we should cut them some slack when it comes to playing pool. Even in the camps, we have pool tables to play too.
I guess Singaporeans need to keep to themselves more. Sometimes its better to close an eye and not appear to be so petty. The Stomper seems to be in a gleeful mood, saying “I will be looking forward to hearing from the respective units on the actions taken for their misconduct”. It seems like he has gotten screwed by rules and is waiting for people to get screwed too.
Well lately, our MWH (Men with handphones) have been busy at work generating camera shots of people doing the wrong things. Whether it its wrong or not, we do not know, but we do know that our MWH are judging them based on their own judgement. One of it is this.
I do not know if that it is morally right to send this photo to Stomp. I do not know what the person experienced or saw in reality. I guess the person must have been courageous to go up and take a photo whilst the man is playing with his dick. However I do feel thankful that the person’s face can’t be seen.
This is to give the person a benefit of the doubt. He may not be playing with his dick. In fact, all he may be doing is scratching his balls, and if someone identifies him from a photo for something he did not do, I guess it would be horrendous. It is also tasteless to send such a photo. Is the person trying to get that guy into trouble? In fact I believe that the proper way would be to call the police to handle him for indecent exposure. Let the police handle it.
I guess next time someone will send a photo to stomp about a robbery and not call the police.. The day that happens, we’re screwed.
How many times has the title “man eating [insert food name here] on train” been flashed across your computer screen when you visit Stomp? This time, the title is Waffle Time on Train. However, the gist is still the same.
So what have I learnt after stumbling upon numerous such posts by stompers all year long? That people in Singapore eat on the trains and they do not care less. Even if there are many people who got shamed, they still do not care. Thus, what is the point in sending such pictures to Stomp?
The cost of sending such pictures to stomp includes battery life and the 80 cents you take to send that MMS. Is it worth it? Does Stomp give you any prize for your effort? No. In fact, all you get is flamings by stompers asking you, “why did you not approach the boy and tell him off?” Is it really worth it then?
My opinion is that its not worth it. This thing is an education issue. It is about their morals and it has to be taught from parent to child, from teacher to child, and from peer to peer. It does not help and will not help by taking photos to shame them on Stomp. In fact, they arn’t really shamed. Unless their peers see the post, it is very likely that they get away with what they have done. Even if their peers saw the post, will their peers mock them? Will they make him feel embarrassed and regretful towards his actions?
The answer, I believe, is no.
The key to solving this problem is through our schools and families. Stomp is not a solution. Thus, please stop sending such photos to stomp because they do not work effectively. You are only helping stomp get visits and they earn money when many visitors come to their site.
Well, someone found a sign that implies that the staircase in front of him is meant for disabled access. It seems ridiculous to me that you have to designate a set of staircases for only the disabled.
When there is an emergency, and when the lifts cannot be used, how does able bodies people escape then? Isn’t it a little weird? The stomper says that it looks like an ordinary staircase. This doesn’t make sense. If you make something for disabled people, there has to be something thats helping the disabled walk through the staircase right? If not, why is the staircase so special?
Guess some people are sleeping on the job huh.
Stomp has now evolved. Instead of flaming other people, we are now taking photos of people who have not done anything wrong! This is a new stomp article on a person who parked a little too much to the right, inconveniencing the driver himself and no one else.
The driver parked too much to the right, and the only way he can probably get out is by exiting from the passengers seat. The person who park next to him would have plenty of spaces to park. However this driver is so unfortunate that he has to be STOMPED by a lame stomper who has nothing better to do. He did not inconvenience anyone and did not take up more than 1 space in the carpark. So why the hell are Singaporeans picking on such people?
Sooner or later we are going to degrade ourselves by taking photos of people who scold others for eating on trains. Then we would take photos of people who are not eating on the trains. I don’t know.Stomp seems to be making us evolve backwards.
Well this time someone has been criticized for the way he sleeps on the bus! View story here!
This time we have someone who is sleeping on the bus. However, the way he sleeps is such that his head is on the handle bar right in front, which seems to have infuriated a stomper who snapped his photo and sent it to stomp. The reason is that this is an inconsiderate act which has resulted in a situation where the front seat would probably be empty as no one would dare to sit down with his head on the handle bar.
I’m wondering what is happening. I really doubt that person really wants to sleep in that way. In the photo, he looks extremely uncomfortable in his sleeping posture. He must have been seriously tired to be sleeping that way and not knowing. The usual people sleep with their heads on the handrails on the back. Not the front.
I guess we have come to a point where everything is SNAP and send to stomp. Stomp has created a culture of Singaporeans who just love to take photos and flame people. We have not stopped to think if there may be another side to the story and we have lost our sense of sympathy towards other people. Perhaps it is because of the prizes that may be won when you send an article to stomp? I have no idea.
Let’s just pray that we will all give up on stomp, which will never happen.
This is another story of a stupid idiot using Singapore’s very own lame portal, Stomp. I myself have seen many such postings and they have all gotten flamed at by Stomp users, yet people still continue doing such nonsensical stuff.
Article link:“Law breaker” apprehending Law breaker?
Basically, this Stomp post is about a man who shot an image of a traffic warden’s scooter on a double yellow line. He says that the traffic warden is breaking the rules by parking on a double yellow line. He feels that the traffic warden should not break the rules when he is giving summons to another person (as can be seen in the photo).
Are there anything else stupider than this other than the Optimus prime photo?
I doubt it. Its is plain amusing for people to feel that traffic wardens should find a proper place to park before issuing summons. Who the hell in his right mind will wait for the warden to come back? Perhaps this person should suggest to the traffic police to allow the warden to just record the license plate number and give the driver a huge shock when he receives a fine. The warden would not need to confront the driver then? Haha.
Well, the most amusing comment I have seen is to say sarcastically that the warden should carry his scooter on his back / shoulder before proceeding to book the guy for whatever traffic offense he made.
Look here first
From the last blog entry I wrote about stomp, there have been new updates that are totally lame and I would say, totally irresponsible.
“My girlfriend and I saw that and we were disgusted by their behaviour. We thought it was so gross and shameless, as they are already so old.â€
I didn’t know we have such an apparent age-biasness in Singapore today? What has education done to you? Why do you point your fingers at other people when you yourself will probably smooch a little outside with your girlfriend? For goodness sake, that guy’s 22 years old and still acts like this.
If you are doing the same thing as what you are accusing other people to do, then you have no right to feel any disgust for them, whether they are old or not. Our generation now is more open-minded and we have PDA (public displays of affection) everywhere we go. When we grow older we will still be as open-minded. Tell me, in 40 years time when the culture has changed, should you be disgusted at yourself when you are 62 years old kissing your wife and telling her you love her?
Bloody bullshit.
